Susan M. Ossi

Susie Ossi is the founding partner of the Ossi Law Firm, P.A. (established in 2008) which has recently become Ossi Law Group, P.A. (formerly Ossi, Withers & Harrison, P.A.)  Born in Tallahassee, Florida, Susie grew up in Charleston, Illinois and attended Eastern Illinois University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Economics.  During college Susie was awarded the prestigious President's Award for her academic achievement and after graduating from college she received the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from Eastern Illinois University.  

In 1999, Susie received her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law where she graduated 7th in a class of 206.  During law school, Susie was an Associate Editor of the Washington University Journal of Urban and Contemporary Law.  She was awarded membership in the Order of the Coif for high attainments in the study of law.

Upon graduation from law school, Susie accepted a position as an associate attorney at Thompson Coburn, LLP, one of the premier legal practices in the Midwest.  While Susie started her legal career handling civil litigation matters, she quickly discovered that she strongly preferred estate and probate transactional work and decided to shift her focus to estate planning.

One day in 2002, while scraping ice off of her car in St. Louis and shoveling snow at 7:00 am, Susie decided that it was time to move back to her home state of Florida.

In 2002, Susie (and her beagle) relocated to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida's Masters of Law in Taxation (LL.M.) program which is widely known for being one of the top Tax programs in the country and focused her studies in estate planning.  It was during her year in Gainesville that Susie met her husband, Paul, and decided to make Gainesville her home.  Susie’s parents also moved from Charleston, Illinois to Gainesville and Susie loves the fact that she gets to spend time with them.  

Susie focuses her practice almost exclusively in the areas of estate planning, wills, trusts, probate, trust administration and wealth preservation. She is Board Certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in Wills, Trusts, and Estates Law.

During the summer of 2017, in addition to managing Ossi, Withers & Harrison, P.A., Susie taught the Tax L.L.M. Estate Planning course at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. 

In her spare time, Susie enjoys spending time with her husband, Paul, their three children, and their beagle.  The family enjoys many activities together including traveling, riding on roller coasters, rollerblading, watersliding, skateboarding and cooking. Susie and her husband also coach a soccer team in their spare time.
